Shenanigans

Happy Sunday Everyone! Paper Issues is sponsoring the sketch challenge over at Stuck?! Sketches this month.  The prize is a $20 GC to the Paper Issues Store!!!  I played along and this is what I came up with:

I finally got to play with some of my Recorded collection by Allison Kreft for Webster's Pages.  This is such a fun collection...it has great colors and embellies!  The pictures...well this is what happens when my daughter and friends are bored on the school bus... I guess I should be glad?!! The title was stolen (with permission of course ) from my co-designer at Paper Issues...Leslie Ashe.  I just thought it fit perfectly!

I LOVE the clips that come with Recorded!

I created the little Insta photo frame by sewing a vellum pocket into the opening and filling it with sequins.  The love was cut from one of the papers in the collection.  Well, that's it for today.  I'll be off-line for a few days for Christmas!  (that is IF I ever finish all there is to do beforehand!)  I wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!   I'll be starting January with a bang and some projects for Creative Scrappers and Doodlebug!

A Little Home for the Holidays

It's that time of year...it's hit the critical point...everything just has to get done!  Cards, cookies, shopping, wrapping, tree...what do I do...push it all aside to play with some Doodlebug Home for the Holidays.  Who cares if I have 25 people coming for a family party on Saturday and my Christmas cards are only half created???  Those Pixies just were calling my name.  I have an excuse...it's actually a gift!  Take a peek:

I have some people on my list that are very hard to buy for...so when I saw this Accordion Gift Card booklet by Lori Whitlock in the Silhouette store...I was inspired!

I added a belly band to the book so that I could easily showcase some of the cute Icon Stickers from Home for the Holidays.

Inside the book there are slots for 6 gift cards.

Now I have a great gift, that I know will be appreciated!!  OK, now back to my Christmas duties....thanks for stopping by today!!

My Happy Place at Paper Issues

Hi Everyone...it's time for a new Issue over at Paper Issues today...."My Happy Place!"  Of course this is a title near and dear to me since it's the name of my blog so I just had to be a part of it!  We got to play with some goodies from our sponsor Chic Tags for this issue...I mixed up some papers and embellies from the School House and Happy Place collections.  Take a peek:

My happy place is my new craft room!  I took some pictures of the newly redone room to show some of my favorite things!  It's not 100% done yet...I have fabric for curtains and some goodies for the walls still, but it's a fun place to hang out!

My most favorite thing in my craft room is the desk...it is 5'square and seats 4!  Of course I still find a way to take up all that space!  The love this right here tag is from Chic Tags School House collection...the puffy stickers are from Evalicious.

Since we still needed room for overnight guests...we got a new sleeper sofa for the room as well.  You can see who uses it most!

More tags, from both collections... one of my favorite things about Chic Tags papers is the manufacturer strip along the bottom of the paper.  They all have one side that you can use as tags!!  The "love this" tag is from one of those strips.

So what is your Happy Place?  Make sure to link up your projects featuring your favorite places to the current issue!  You could win a fab prize pack from Chic Tags!  Thanks for stopping by today!

30gratefuldays Mini Album

Hi Everyone...well I did it!  I completed my #30gratefuldays mini album for Paper Issues!  If you're not familiar, Paper Issues asked their Instagram followers to post pictures each day of November of something they were grateful for and tag it #30gratefuldays.  The response was huge!  I decided to put my pictures in a little 4x6 mini.

To make this an easy project, I made myself follow some guidelines.  First, I could only use one collection...Jillibean Soup's Cold Avocado Soup.. along with just a few coordinating embellishments such as washi, twine, doilies, sequins and clips.  Second, I printed 30 project life sketches I got from the Citrus Twist blog... I had to use them in order.  This prevented me from agonizing over every little detail and it really made it such an easy project to complete!  I may try this again for something like a December Daily.  Here are all the inside pages. (click on the picture for a closer view)

I love how it turned out!  That's it for today...I'll be back soon with some layouts for Paper Issues!  Thanks for stopping by.

A Cute Little Card

Hi Everyone...Over the weekend I was at a crop held by Right at Home Scrapbooking.  My main goal for the crop was to get my Christmas cards cut out.  Happy to report I was able to do that!  When I was looking at my "scraps" I had about 100 bracket shaped labels.  I couldn't just throw them out, so I decided to create a little something using my scraps!  This is what I came up with:

I am not a big stamper, but I have to say that the Lawn Fawn stamps are just too cute!  I also love the fact that they also have coordinating dies.  The papers are from Lawn Fawn's Peace Love Joy collection.  I figured I'd make a few of these to have on hand...that way I'd have a card if needed!  That's it for today...I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!  I'll be back Saturday with my #30gratefuldays mini album!  Thanks for stopping by.

More Lawn Fawn

Hi Everyone...I'm back today with the second layout from my Lawn Fawn Fall Layout Class I'm teaching this weekend at the Right at Home Scrapbooking November Crop.  Take a peek....

One of my all time favorite pics...all of the nieces and nephews and their significant others...a rare photo op!  I used the Stitched Journaling Card Dies to create my background.   Now no one faint...but I actually stamped. (It's a running joke that I'm a completely inept stamper)  but the little critters from the Into the Woods stamp set were just too cute to pass up.

The speech bubble dies and stamps are from the A Birdie Told Me set.

Off to crop today...can't wait to hang with the girls and gab!! We might even get some projects done!  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Issues at Creative Scrappers!

Hi Everyone...two of my favorite places are teaming up this week...the Paper Issues girls are sponsoring the Creative Scrappers Sketch!  Kristine Davidson sent us this fab sketch to play with...

And...here's what I came up with...

These selfies were taken during an AP US History class....they're obviously studying hard.... In place of the triangles in the sketch, I created the symbol for radiation using my Silhouette...I figured it went perfectly with the Photo Bomb theme! Most of the goodies on my layout are from the Chic Tags Our Happy Place Collection from the Paper Issues Store

The heart speech bubble clip is from Maya Road, and the Epic wood piece is from Freckled Fawn, colored with my new favorite Teal Color Shine from Heidi Swapp.

The click flair is from PandaEight and the glasses flair is from Doodlebug.  Link up your takes on this sketch on the Creative Scrapper's Blog and you could win a $30 gift card to the Paper Issues Store

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to head over to the CS blog to see the fabulous creations from the PI girls!

Lawn Fawn Fall Layout

Happy Sunday Everyone!  I had a fun time at Right at Home Scrapbooking yesterday for their Christmas Open house and bus tour.  Lots of laughs with lots of fun ladies!  Today I wanted to share one of the layouts I'll be teaching at the Right at Home Scrapbooking November crop next weekend.  We'll be playing with some Lawn Fawn Into the Woods Papers and dies.

I'm in love with this collection.  The colors are so cheery and the patterns are a lot of fun.  For this layout I also used some of the sequins and the Stitched Leaves Dies.

I'll be back later in the week with the other layout from this class.  I'll also be posting some of my #30gratefuldays mini for Paper Issues and on Wednesday, I have a fun layout from the Paper Issues/Creative Scrappers Team up we have going on this week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Feathers!

Hi Everyone, I have a fun card up over at The Twinery today.  I actually made feathers from some of our Solid Twines!  It took me a long time to jump on the feather bandwagon...but now I think I'm here to stay!  Take a peek:

These look hard, but they're really pretty easy to make...just takes some time.  I started by wrapping a piece of fabric covered floral wire with the twine, gluing both ends to secure. (I used some Mandarin, Marigold and Maraschino)  I then tied 3" pieces of twine, starting about 2" from the bottom...all the way to the top.  Once that's done, you spray the feather with fabric stiffener, and play with it until it's shaped like a feather.  Just let it dry on a piece of wax paper and done!  To see a complete tutorial...you can go here.

I used some neutral papers from Studio Calico for the background...I really wanted the feathers to stand out.  A few sequins and a wooden heart and done!  This card is serving double duty as well... we started a new "Grateful for You" Issue over at Paper Issues yesterday...link up your projects to win a $20 PI Gift Card!!!  Good for anything in the store, even some fab Twinery Twine! That's it for today...thanks for stopping by!

Play with me!

I have a new layout today for Paper Issues.  I got to play with some fun new Studio Calico Printshop and some gorgeous Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spray!  My layout was inspired by a sketch by PI Alum Ashley Horton.  Take a peek:

This picture makes me laugh every time I look at it.  It's my kitty Daisy who was determined to get between me and my laptop.  She just wouldn't give up!  I used a couple of my favorite papers from Printshop... and the wood veneer stars.  I colored them with some Teal Color Shine.  I love the shimmer!

I also used some Color Shine on my background along with some Studio Calico sequins. The paw print washi is from Queen & Co.  That's all for today, I'll be back soon with some fall and (gasp....) Christmas projects!  Thanks for stopping by!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Hi Everyone!  Happy November!  I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving already!  I've been good so far, working on my #30gratefuldays mini for Paper Issues...at least I'm up to date! Today I have a "just for fun" layout I created using a mix of Bella Blvd's Daily Chevies and Snapshots Collections.  It's a silly group selfie  I took with my daughter and friends, while tailgating at the Taylor Swift concert last July.

I love the die cut pieces from the Snapshots collection..so fun and colorful.  I added in a few Bella Blvd. crocheted hearts  and some sequins from my stash as well.

This layout is one of my favorites, because I'm actually in the picture! (It's a rarity....)  I'll be back later this week with a project for Paper Issues, and hopefully some class announcements for Right at Home...some fun projects in the works!  Thanks for stopping by!

Ghoul's Night Out

Hi Everyone, I'm here today with a layout I created for The Twinery's "Boo to You" Challenge."  The challenge is an easy one!  Just link up your Halloween-themed projects featuring some Twinery Twine!

For my project I decided to use some of my Solid Charcoal Twine to stitch a spider web!  This picture is from Halloween last year...Love how these girls are still into trick-or-treating!!!

I used Bella Blvd.'s new Trick or Treat Collection for my layout.  To create the web, I just printed a spider web on a piece of paper to use as my template.  Using my paper piercer I punched holes at all the meeting points.  From there all I had to do was stitch!

A little spider completes the look!  Be sure to link up your Halloween creations to this challenge! You could win a $30 credit to The Twinery!!!  The rules and link up can be found here

Thanks for stopping by today and I can't wait to see what you create!

Fallin' For You!

We have a new Issue over at Paper Issues today, Fallin' for You, sponsored by Ruby Rock-it!  The theme can be fall, wedding...or anything related.  I got a huge package of goodies from the Ruby Rock-it's At Last collection.  Since it's been a while since I got married (21 years!!) I decided to scrap a picture of my newlywed cousin and her hubby...the cutest couple I know.  They just celebrated their first anniversary!  Take a peek:

I based my layout on Sketch 253 from Creative Scrappers.  The papers in the At Last collection are really pretty...a combination of peach, aqua and grey...very soft.  I decided they'd look best with a black and white photo, so I converted the picture.  The doily was cut from one of the papers in the collection using my Silhouette.

I think my favorite items in the collection were these chipboard feathers from the package of wedding die cuts. As soon as I saw them I had to use them!

The "to have and to hold" is also from the die cuts package.  The collection also has a selection of glitter borders that are a lot of fun.  I used one behind my picture and the other along the bottom of the page.

I cut the title using my Silhouette as well.  The only items I added were some coordinating Studio Calico sequins.  The "Fallin' For You" Issue will run through November 10th. Be sure to link up any wedding or fall themed projects here, and you could win a prize pack full of Ruby Rock-it's "At Last" collection.   Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you create!
