Kitty Smooches

I was browsing through some of my favorite blogs the other day and came upon a sketch challenge over at Scrapbook and Cards Today.  I decided I was going to take part in the challenge...it's nice to do a project once in a while just for kicks!  Here's what I came up with:

I snapped these photos with my phone a couple of weeks ago of my daughter and our fluffy kitty Rosie.  Rosie is the most tolerant cat...she puts up with so much hugging and kissing it's unbelievable.
Her nick name is Squishy kitty.  I got to play with my new XOXO Collection from American Crafts...LOVE the colors and patterns!  I also played with my Silhouette...I cut the hearts from the background paper and backed them with some of the patterned papers.  I liked how it added some dimension.

I'm into hidden journalling these days...so I created a little pocket with a tag and tucked it behind the doily and photos.

And of course, since I just got my package from Evalicious...I had to use some of my goodies including the LOVE this badge and the You & Me tag.

Well, that's all I  have today...I'll be back soon with some DT stuff for Right at Home, Creative Scrappers and the Valentine Week at the Twinery!  Keep checking in...I might have a Twinery Giveaway soon!

Adore You

Today I have a layout I created for the design team over at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with some gorgeous papers from the Crate Paper Fourteen collection.  I really love the colors.  I thought they coordinated perfectly with this picture of my daughter.  It was our Christmas card picture this past year.

I splattered the background (and the front of my sweater, and the table on the porch...) with some studio paints.  I love the big "sploppy" look.. just not on my clothes!   The black doily shapes are rub-ons from KaiserCraft, and I added the cute heart doily from my stash.

The arrows and the XOXO's were cut from my Silhouette.  I also did some "negative" space embellishing by cutting the grey paper with some MFT hearts. I used some washi tape from Bella Blvd. and Lawn Fawn to add splashes of deep color.

The title was also cut using my Silhouette.  I can not say enough about how I love this machine!  That's it for today.  I'll be back soon with my latest for Creative Scrappers.  Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate your comments!

Birthday Favor

It's been a busy few days... I posted this for Right at Home Scrapbooking yesterday, but almost forgot to put it on my own blog!  I got to play with some more Bella Blvd. Birthday Girl...this time I made a little purse that could be used as a birthday party favor or even as a gift bag for a small gift.

To create the purse I used an SVG file I purchased from Lori Whitlock.  It was super easy to put together, just a little score tape and a couple of brads for the handle.

To create the rolled flower, I first cut one Rolled Flower Die namic from MFT from white card stock.  I then wrapped it it some Bella Blvd. Decorative tape, and just rolled it as usual.  I love the effect it gives!  The whit flower is a Bella Blvd Crocheted flower.

To finish off the purse, I just added a little Velcro to the flap and the body of the purse to keep the flap closed.   Just add a some pretty tissue paper and a few girly goodies and yo have a great favor/gift.  That's all for today...I'll be back soon with another layout for Right at Home and a Creative Scrappers reveal. Thanks for stopping by and as always, I appreciate your comments!

Creative Scrappers Sketch 244

Happy Sunday to everyone...I'm back today with Creative Scrappers sketch #244.  It's a great sketch by Heather Leopard...full of fun details.  Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch.  I stayed pretty true to the sketch...I loved it just the way it was!  The picture is one I took with InstaGram back in October of my silly Daisy peeking out of a box. (We call them cat-traps around here...)

I used Pebbles, Inc.'s Seen and Noted collection.  I LOVE the bright colors and fun patterns.  They went perfectly with my picture.  The pockets and cards in the collection made it easy to create a hidden journaling pocket.  I just added some Bella Blvd Decorative tape and Evalicious's Look Here stamp. And of course, one of my Studio Calico Kitty paper clips!

Evalicious also has really cute kitty badges...so of course I needed to add one.

I also played with some Mister Huey sprays to add some "splops" to my background and I pulled out my kitty paw print stamp...I've had this forever, but it's just so cute!

Yes, I know that this layout solidifies my reputation as a Crazy Cat Lady...It's just something that everyone is   going to have to learn to live with! To win a prize package from Creative Scrapper's January sponsor My Creative Scrapbook Kits, complete at least one layout from Creative Scrappers Sketches # 241, 242, 243, 244, or 245 and upload it to the Creative Scrappers Blog using the inLinkz button.  The deadline to submit a layout is February 1st!

Valentine's Treat Box

Today I have a fun hanging heart treat box that I created for the DT at Right at Home Scrapbooking. Take a peek:

I found the cute hanging heart box over on the Lori Whitlock site.  She has a ton of great SVG files!  The papers I used are from Crate Paper's new Fourteen collection.  I just love the muted colors and fun patterns.

I decorated the box with a few more cut files I got from the Silhouette store.  I still cannot say how much I LOVE my Cameo...and I know I've only scratched the surface with it!

The box shape includes two flaps that tab together to keep the goodies inside.  I created the handle by braiding some Twinery Twine in Stone, Blossom and Strawberry.

And what did I fill my hugs and kisses box with?  Hugs and Kisses of course....now the only problem is not eating the remaining Hugs and Kisses....I have no will power when it comes to chocolate.

I'll be back Sunday with the latest from Creative Scrappers.  Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to know what you think!

Doodlebug Cuteness

I was sorting through some pictures and I realized I never posted this cute little project I did for a friend who just had a baby.  I was inspired by a project I found on Pinterest (seen here...).  I took the project a little further by making the blogs more "baby block"-like and I used the absolutely ADORABLE Doodlebug Sugar and Spice Collection to add some color. (which I must admit, I purchased long before I had this project in mind...the colors and patterns were just irresistible!)

I started with some plain old wooden photo blocks I bought at AC Moore.  I painted them white, and added some ink to the edges to antique them a bit.  From there it was easy..I just added some squares of the papers and some of the stickers from the collection (that giraffe is so my favorite....)

I cut the words and numbers using some cut files and modge-podged everything to seal it on. It was a fun project to create, and honestly it was nice to just do a project for no reason!  That's it for now, I'll be back Thursday with a project for Right at Home!

Never a Dull Moment

I'm back today with a fun layout I created for the DT over at Right at Home Scrapbooking.  I got to play with some Bella Blvd. Birthday Girl goodies...Love these papers, so bright and cheery.  I decided to do a non-birthday themed layout...take a peek...

I grabbed some pictures from my cell phone...I swear, I'd never get photos anymore if not for camera phones! Loved these silly photos of my daughter and her friend on a trip to Boston a few months ago to see the US Gymnastics Team.

I got to play with my Cameo again...LOVE that machine.  It cuts so beautifully! I combined a phrase I purchased in the Silhouette store with some of the great Chipboard Alphas from Bella to create the title.  The sun and the polaroid frame were also cut using my Cameo.

And to complete the layout, I used some of the Bella Blvd. Decorative tapes to adhere my pics.  I love how the colors combine perfectly!  That's it for today... I'll be back soon with some more projects!  Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to know what you think.

Creative Scrappers Sketch 242

Happy New Year everyone...I'm back with the first Creative Scrappers Sketch of 2013...Sketch 242.  It's a really fun sketch by Kiki Halbert.  Take a peek:

And here's my take on her awesome sketch...

As soon as I saw this sketch, I though of the "Little Moments Lane" paper from Dear Lizzy's 5th and Frolic collection with the cute little Polaroid frames. I fussy cut them to add some funny pictures from this year's Homecoming and attached them with some Bella Blvd. washi tape.

I got to play with my new Silhouette Cameo for this layout and cut both the title and this fun heart outline.  I also got to use some badge flair from Evalicious.

I'm very much into hidden journaling cards these days...I don't love my handwriting so it's a good way to document without seeing my scribbles!  I used one of Evalicious' new stamps to title the card, and topped it off with some Strawberry Twinery Twine.

The little Whimsy Camera was the perfect way to complete my layout... I think these are my all-time favorite Whimsies!!!!  That's it for today... I'll be back very soon with some more projects... I have a very busy January DT schedule!  Stay warm!
