Doodlebug Design: Daily Doodles

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a layout featuring the fabulous new Daily Doodles from Doodlebug Design.  I love a calendar page, and one in Swimming Pool is just awesome!  Here's my layout...

Recently we adopted a new kitten, Jax.  He's so stinkin' cute, of course I have about 1,000 pictures of his antics.  I printed a bunch of them in 1.25" square size and set forth documenting Jax's first month in his forever home!

One of my favorite things about Doodlebug is that you can mix and match collections and everything coordinates!  I used embellishments from the new October 31st collection and mixed them up with Pretty Kitty rub-ons from way back in 2007 and they work perfectly together!  I think I used goodies from about 10 different collections!  Here are some more close ups...

The new Doodlebug Washi Tape Collections are perfect for decorating the Daily Doodles Calendars as well...the thin size is perfect for attaching pictures!  I also used some new Chunky Twine in Limeade to make my ball of string...it's so yummy, I can't wait to play with all the colors!
That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Black Cat Pumpkin

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun project that I made just because I felt like it!  Recently I saw that Michael's Stores had a #TrickYourPumpkin Sweepstakes going on.  They want you to decorate one of their craft pumpkins and post it to IG.  So, in the spirit of the holiday, I created this...

I started with one of their craft pumpkins that was already painted in Chalkboard paint.  After cutting his cute face, I used some Doodlebug Design papers to make the Ears, Tail and bow tie.  The whiskers are made from the new Chunky Twine from Doodlebug.  I dipped them in some fabric stiffener to make them stick out.  I've named this pumpkin my "Jax-o-Lantern," after my sweet new kitty Jax... and because I'm a bit crazy.

Lori Whitlock: Thanksgiving Place Cards using Silhouette Cut by Color Feature Tutorial

Hi Everyone!  I'm up on the Lori Whitlock Blog today with a tutorial on how to use the Cut by Color Feature in the Silhouette Studio Software! If you’re not familiar, this feature allows you to select different cutting conditions for each line color on your design mat.  This is super handy when working with the Silhouette Sketch Pens and shapes.  I used this feature to create the leaves on these fun Thanksgiving Place cards.

I started with Lori's Thanksgiving Place Cards.  (here in the Silhouette Store) and some papers from Echo Park's The Story of Fall collection.  The names were written using my Silhouette Sketch Pens.  Here's a close up of one of the cards.

For my full tutorial, see my post on the Lori Whitlock Blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Get Ready for the Holidays with a Doodlebug Fauxdori!

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with a fun Doodlebug Design Sugarplums project that will help you get organized for the upcoming holidays!!  I created a traveler's notebook, also called a Fauxdori with inserts and printables to organize all of my holiday activities!  Take a peek...

I started with some Doodlebug Fabrics from the Santa Express collection and created my cover following the instructions in this great video by Doodlebug DT Coordination Lori Allred on her Inspired by Pinterest Show on My Craft Channel.  The cover uses elastics to hold little notebooks you can mix and match!  The Christmas tree charm on my notebook was created by laminating a tree from the Sugarplums Diecuts Craft Kit, cutting it out and adding some sequins.

Inside, my fauxdori has 4 little notebooks.  Each of the covers were made using papers and stickers from the Sugarplums collection... take a peek ...

Inside each notebook cover, are printables to help organize everything!  I started with a calendar for November, December and January... because you know the holidays start early and continue long after some years! I love the little reindeer sticker on the Icon Sheet...too cute, and I used some of the new Polka Dot Washi to mark out some dates in my calendar!

My next notebook cover contains a Santa's to do list... just some blank pages to write down all the things that you need to remember...gift ideas, errands, party lists... I thought the All I want for Christmas sticker from the This and That sheet was perfect for this!

Every year, I make cookies for friends and neighbors, so I thought it would be good to have a recipes notebook.  There's a little spot to add a picture (perfect size for an Instax photo!) and plenty of room to write out ingredients and instructions.  Of course I needed to use the gingerbread boy & girl from the Diecuts Craft Kit!

My last notebook has an insert to keep track of my Christmas Card list.  I make and send about 100 cards a year, so this is important to keep up to date!

Just a peek inside my notebooks... each of the covers have little pockets for me to keep extra items such as receipts or loose notes.  The covers were created using a Silhouette files (here) that I altered to fit the size of my inserts.

And what planner would be complete with out some little clip bookmarks??  I created these by super gluing a few of the Sugarplums Sprinkles Shapes to some Doodlebug Mini Clothespins.  They're perfect for keeping my place!  And they're too cute!

Now for the fun part!  I'd love to share the printables I created with you!  Even more fun, is the colors perfectly match the Sugarplums collection so you can create your own fauxdori notebook!  You can download the printables for free here.  I hope you enjoy them!  That's it for me today, thanks so much for stopping by!
